Our Activity Center – Viento Sur is the place to begin your exploration of the Valley. At a lower elevation than Cusco, the Valley is a warmer and less physically taxing environment for visiting the many attractions of the region, including Machu Picchu. The mild climate, the varied and dramatic scenery of snow-capped mountains, flowering meadows, lush green hills and spectacular flora and fauna, make the Valley a prime adventure destination in South America.

Viento-Sur takes full advantage of this setting by combing eco-tourism with a variety of natural and cultural excursions including mountain bike tours, paragliding adventures, horseback rides on the famous Peruvian paso horse, walks and treks, bird-watching, cultural trips, and exclusive, customized multi-adventure travel programs

Follow the footsteps of the Incas high into the green mountains of Machu Picchu, bike down curving paths to ancient salt pans, drink some local brewed corn beer with friendly villagers, raft down the Urubamba river past red-tiled villages, watch a dramatic and fiery theater presentation at night or marvel at the dazzling variety of hummingbirds during the day.

Please note that most of these activities take place rain or shine, and once they are scheduled, we cannot offer reimbursements for them. We also cannot offer reimbursements if you do not arrive for a scheduled activity.
